As my #january2020journalingchallenge is winding down, I realized two things. 1) I am enjoying the process. 2) I’d like to step it up a notch.
Let me just say it. I’ve wanted a Hobonichi Weeks Planner since last year even though I don’t need another planner. Seriously, I don’t. Plus, if I did use another planner, it wouldn’t be a book bound system (NOT A FAN). Continue reading “Hobonichi Art Journal: Inspired by Johanna Basford’s Inky Wonderlands”
I know that most people start the new year with lots of goals and resolutions. Not me. It wasn’t that I wasn’t thinking about them because I have been since September. Continue reading “Make your own Planner Trackers 2020: Social Media, Wellness, & Reading”
When I saw these Happy Planner Glam Girl Social Media Mini Note Pages, I was immediately drawn to the left side of the sheet. However, I don’t use a mini Happy Planner and the sheet isn’t sized for my needs.
An Alternative to a Laminated Traveler’s Notebook Cover
In number eight of my #craftseries2019, I showed how to make a B6 Traveler’s Notebook (TN), dashboard, and folder using my laminator. However, that isn’t the only method that you can make your own Traveler’s Notebook (some call it a Fauxdori after the popular Midori Traveler’s Notebook). Happy Planner 2020 Release and the Planner Newbie
My friend Shary and I decided to a collab on own YouTube channels that gave planner newbies (or even planner veterans) some of our thoughts, tips, tricks, and hacks about various Happy Planner styles. As requested, I’ve formatted the templates for the Big Happy Planner. Check out my blog for the free printables that fit the Classic Happy Planner. Easy Pocket Envelope inspired by ShabbyDabbyDoodah of YouTube
For the next craft in my #CraftSeries2019, I was inspired by the YouTube channel ShbbyDabbyDoodah. She makes gorgeous junk journals and in one of her videos, she was making bulk pocket envelopes for her journals. Continue reading “DIY Pocket Envelope with Notepad | Activity Pack #2”
Paper Pad Fan
Hi, my name is Johanna and I love scrapbooking paper pads. Whew… there, I said it. Usually, it’s the 12 x 12 inch paper pads that I go for (especially double sided paper pads). But for some reason, I have quite a few 6 x 6 inch paper pads. I think that I’ve picked them up because they are cute but honestly, they aren’t really functional for what I use them for (my Traveler’s Notebooks).

Paper crafting fun
I enjoy paper crafting. I find it a very relaxing way to be creative and since I’m a huge fan of paper, paper crafting hits all the right notes. For this tutorial, in my #craftseries2019, I’ll show you how to make a quick and easy Jr. Legal Notepad Cover with a velcro flap/closure
A Brief history of the December Daily concept
A few years ago, the December Daily concept pinged on my radar. December daily is a concept started by Ali Edwards in 2007. The concept is based on memory keeping, or ‘telling a story’ for every day in December leading up to Christmas. It generally involves elements of scrap booking, pictures, thoughts etc. (you can find more here: https://aliedwards.com/projects-december-daily)
Happy Planner 2020 Release
Although I haven’t seen any sneak peaks on YouTube or Instagram, I’m fairly confident that within the next few weeks, we’ll see all the new January – December 2020 Planners and corresponding sticker books. And the frenzy will begin. But for those who are either new to Happy Planner or just looking for a fresh start, I’m hoping that this collab with Shary will be beneficial to you. Easy Craft Project
In the first video of my Craft Series 2019, check out how I turn an inexpensive composition notebook into a fun and festive altered composition notebook. Continue reading “Easy Altered Composition Notebook”
Since it can be difficult to source Happy Planner items here in Hawaii, I tend to do a lot of Do-it-Yourself (DIY) projects. It is the easiest way for me to recreate things that I want but can easily access. Also, I know from comments on my YouTube page, there are a lot of people in the same situation. Perhaps it’s due to lack of availability at their neighborhood craft store. Perhaps it’s due to no neighborhood craft store. Perhaps it’s due to budget constraints. Whatever the reason, I know I’m not the only one who can’t always get the new shiny things I see on Instagram and YouTube.

After watching Dani Buttons on YouTube, I decided to create my own scavengerhunt for those who enjoy planners and journals. Whether you use these in your weekly spreads or create a new scavenger hunt journal, this ultimately should be a fun way to ‘scavenge’ through you items and perhaps even rediscover some of your treasures.
I thought it might be easier to compile the list of prompts for my #pjscavengerhunt2021 here. I’ve also include the ‘rules’ if you can even call it that. Enjoy the scavenger hunt and have fun!
With everything going on with Covid-19, I wanted to share this free printable in the hopes that it might be useful to you, your family, or friends.
Last year, I made myself a dupe for the Hobonichi A6 Daily planner using Happy Planner supplies. My ‘Midi’ Happy Planner is bigger than a micro but small than a mini. Continue reading “Journaling Challenge for January 2020”
